The 960-square-meter Daming Palace will demonstrate the splendid ancient Chinese traditional culture with Daming Palace as the representative, as well as the thoughts and explorations about how Xi’an achieves the protection of historical heritage and harmonious development in urban development.

This case belongs to the “Protection & Utilization of Historical Heritage” exhibition dimension in UBPA. And Daming Palace is the political center of Tang Dynasty and also is the most magnificent buildings among the world’s famous three Palaces in Tang Chang’an City with a history of 1,300 years.

The Qifengge Palace, literally meaning “a building for phoenix to live,” was a side palace of Hanyuan Palace which is the main palace of Daming Palace for 17 Tang emperors.

The replica will house the Urban Best Practices showcase of Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province.

Historians got the full picture of the palace from diggings in the city,

The city also moved more than 1 million residents who were living where the Tang palace once stood and is turning the area into a 20-square-kilometer park, which will open in October 2010.

The replica palace will be moved to the park after the Expo.
