Yemen pavilion of Shanghai World Expo was be officially open at 16 am. Mr Colby, the Minister of Yemen Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony. Mr minister said that China has a astonishing pace of development in all respects, while Yemen is also a country of a long history and culture. He said that 2010 shanghai world expo will be a great platform for people all over the world to better understand Yemen civilization and art.

Yemen pavilion is located on the 2nd Asian Joint Museum taking up the area of 300 square meters. With the theme of “Art and Civilization”, Yemen pavilion will focus on introduction of Yemen outstanding achievements in cultural, tourism, science and other areas. Yemen pavilion demonstrates character and culture of the Arab region by means of multimedia. There are many local arts and crafts inside the pavilion to reflect the prosperity of the local market. Besides, A model of Yemen’s capital – Sana is placed to give the audience an intuitive understanding of the city.

In the opening day, Yemen pavilion has arranged a show of songs and dances to reflect local culture and customs. Yemen is located in southwestern Arabian Peninsula. Next to And Saudi Arabia and Oman, near the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, Yemen has a long history and is one of cradles of ancient civilizations in the Arab world.

With the theme “1000 anniversary of Hanoi”, Vietnam Pavilion will be featured by bamboo.

Li Jinshou, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Tourism, said on the ceremony of starting saling Vietnam Pavilion tickets that Vietnam Pavilion is located at Expo A Area and takes up 1000 square meters. The 2010 year is the 1000 anniversary of Vietnam’s capital – Hanoi. The Vietnam Pavilion theme is also originated from this.

The Vietnam Pavilion is featured by rich Vietnamese culture, and there will be performances of ethnic characteristics. Li believed that Vietnam Pavilion would surely attract more visitors.

Li  expressed that, the Vietnam government gave support for China’s hosting 2010 shanghai world expo, and Vietnam cherished this opportunity of corporation with Chinese government. Vietnam’s participation in 2010 expo will be of great significance for a good diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.

Take a look at the inside decoration of Australia Pavilion

February 27, a 80-member delegation of Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA) visited Australia Pavilion led by Peter Sams, the director of Australia National Pavilion fro 2010 shanghai world expo.

Henry Kong, a Master graduated from the University of Sydney majoring International Economic Law, said that studig in Australia is one of the best experiences in his life, and this was his honor to take a first look at the inside decoration of Australia Pavilion.

Lyndall Sachs, the goverment representative of Australia National Pavilion, disclosed that the Australia government has identified two sponsors for the national pavilion, the University of Sydney as Gold Sponsor and Australian National University as brass Sponsor.

In addition, Australia Pavilion will promote education industry through proprietary business plans during the 2010 shanghai expo. In May, Australia Pavilion will holds a serious of activities such as, a victory ceremony for the excellent graduate of the second session of Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA), and high-level forum.
